Aqua Natura Benidorm: the family-sized water park next to the zoo

If Aqualandia is the ‘big brother’ of Benidorm’s water parks, Aqua Natura is more like the friendly cousin you invite when you want a day in the water without getting lost in a giant complex. It sits right next to Terra Natura zoo, on the west side of town, covering almost three hectares around a big wave pool watched over by a lighthouse. With children aged 4 to 12 it is often the right call: enough rides for a full day of fun, and short distances so you never lose sight of anyone.
What you’ll find
The wave pool is the park’s centre of gravity: you drift back to it between slides, settle on its edge to keep an eye on the whole tribe, and it is where little ones gain confidence in the water.
Around it, the slides cover every level: wide multi-lane slides for family races, steeper drops for teenagers and enclosed tubes for fans of total darkness. Among the attractions the park lists are a Black Hole, a Kamikaze and multi-lane slides, plus a river and a large play area for under-12s, with water jets, water curtains and shallow pools.
As always at water parks, minimum heights are posted at the foot of every slide. The most daring ones are for older kids.

Our tips
Go in the morning. In summer, the first hours are the most pleasant and the queues the shortest.
Set up ‘base camp’ by the wave pool: it is the family’s natural meeting point.
Pack water shoes and UV T-shirts for the kids: the sun is strong between dips.
Consider the two-day combo with Terra Natura if you are staying several days in Benidorm: one day for animals, one for water, and nobody gets worn out.
And to end the day?
Benidorm is only a few minutes away: Poniente beach, calmer than Levante, is perfect for a final swim at sunset.
If your children want more, compare with Aqualandia (bigger, more thrills) and Aquópolis Torrevieja further south. And the next day, why not Terra Natura or Terra Mítica?
